1. Comment policy: In order to discourage spambots, I screen anonymous comments. Non-spam anon comments get unscreened as soon as I see them.
I don't get comment notifications, so if you've left a comment on an old entry I probably haven't seen it. If there's something you'd really like me to know, it's best to comment on a recent entry. I don't mind irrelevant comments like this (even from complete strangers), provided they're relevant to something on this LJ (and provided you make it clear why you're commenting and what you're commenting on).
I've never felt the need to delete comments in this LJ that weren't spam. I reserve the right to do so for any reason up to and including "because I feel like it", although I will endeavour to explain my reasons at the time.
2. Friending policy: I friend and defriend people's LJs at will, without explanation; I expect the same from others. That is, if you want to add me, go ahead; if you want to remove me, go ahead. There's no need to ask permission or offer an explanation in either case.
3. Fandom: I don't tend to stay in any one fandom for very long, and I don't write quickly enough to write that much even when I do; once I lose interest in a fandom, I seldom regain that interest for long enough to write a story. In other words, if you friend me because you liked a story I wrote in a particular fandom, and you want to see if I'll write more in that fandom, you will probably be disappointed.
4. Username: My username comes from the British comic book Nemesis the Warlock, which ran in 2000AD beginning in the early 1980s; Purity Brown was first the sidekick and later the enemy of the alien protagonist Nemesis. She was made of pure awesome.
5. Banning: I have banned certain LJ users for behaving obnoxiously towards me. I have banned others because I've seen them behaving obnoxiously towards other people, and I don't want them to infect my own LJ. If I've banned you, don't ask me to unban you: the answer is no.
6. Icons: Any icons credited to me can be shared, no comment or credit necessary; for icons credited to someone else, check that person's LJ to see what their policy is.
